Overview
Research Associate in Environmental Engineering – UNSW. Based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Reports to Professor Richard Stuetz with no direct reports.
Responsibilities
The Research Associate (Level A) will maintain and develop their scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects and contribute towards teaching and learning in the School. * Salary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full time
* Fixed-term contract for 3 years
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
Qualifications and Experience
* A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience collaborating with industry stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge in: air quality and treatment; water quality and management; chemical and sensory odorant analysis; data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.
* Ability to work with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries; conduct high-quality academic and applied research with limited supervision; strong publication and conference record relative to opportunity.
* Teamwork, collaboration across disciplines, and effective relationship-building; passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level; experience or preparedness to develop teaching practice.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students; highly developed interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and students.
* Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values and related policies.
