About the role
As a Cyber Security Specialist, you’ll be responsible for designing,
developing, and maintaining cybersecurity products. This role involves working
closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the products meet the highest
security standards and address customer needs.
You’ll play a critical role in incident response, swiftly investigating and
mitigating security breaches to minimize their impact and proactively monitor
and detect emerging threats and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards to
safeguard the organisation's data and systems.
- Conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify
vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate actions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with
regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Protecting systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and
resources.
- Implement and maintain security controls.
- Providing incident response in the event of a security incident or breach.
- Monitoring systems and networks for intrusions, attacks and unusual activity.
- Keeping up to date with the latest security and technology developments and
research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
Product Development: Design and develop cybersecurity products, including
software and hardware solutions.
Implementation: Participate in product and project implementation,
coordinating new installations, designs, and migrations for security technology
and solutions.
Configuration and Support: Install, configure, and upgrade cybersecurity
products. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for customers.
Compliance: Monitor compliance with applicable codes, best practices,
security standards, and specifications.
Collaboration: Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and
ensure successful product deployment.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of product designs, configurations,
and support procedures.
Security Testing: Planning and executing security testing activities, including
SAST/DAST/IAST, penetration testing, fuzz testing, and vulnerability scanning,
to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and identify weaknesses
Security Architecture: Assisting in designing and implementing secure
application architectures, including authentication mechanisms, access
controls, encryption, and secure communication protocols
Who we’re looking for
You’ll have experience in incident management processes and tools, as well as
working with APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for integrating security
solutions.
This role also requires experience of key cybersecurity controls such as
Anti-malware, EDR/XDR/NDR, SIEM, Email and Web Security, Vulnerability
Management, SOAR/ automation. Additionally, you’ll have an understanding of
common cybersecurity threats and mitigation techniques with a keen interest in
keeping your knowledge and skills up to date.
Strong general IT skills and a good understanding of IT Infrastructure,
including Windows laptops and servers, cloud platforms such as Microsoft
Azure/Office 365/AWS, networking and firewall is also key for this role.
