Contract Type: Permanent

Location: South Yorkshire

Shift: Days

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000pa – dependent on experience

The Opportunity

An ambitious and growing operational business within the technology lifecycle and circular economy sector is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced processing and refurbishment operation within their warehouse and processing facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, team engagement, compliance, quality, and continuous improvement across a busy site environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing operations within an ITAD (IT Asset Disposition), warehouse, manufacturing, retail logistics, refurbishment, recycling, or process-driven environment, with strong leadership capability and a proactive operational mindset.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee the day-to-day operational performance of a high-volume processing facility, ensuring workflow, productivity, stock control, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

You will provide visible leadership across the operational floor, managing supervisors, team leaders, and operational staff while ensuring assets move efficiently through receipt, processing, refurbishment, storage, and dispatch.

This role requires a balance of operational management, people leadership, process control, compliance awareness, and continuous improvement capability.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and manage day-to-day operational activities across the processing facility

· Drive productivity, throughput, quality, and service performance against operational KPIs

· Manage operational teams including supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse/process staff

· Ensure workflow, labour allocation, and operational priorities are effectively managed

· Maintain strong stock control, warehouse discipline, and inventory accuracy

· Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical improvement solutions

· Ensure compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and health & safety requirements

· Support continuous improvement initiatives including process optimisation and waste reduction

· Collaborate with cross-functional departments including logistics, compliance, customer services, and leadership teams

· Maintain a safe, organised, and high-performing operational environment

About You

· Proven experience managing operations within ITAD, refurbishment, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, retail operations, recycling, or process-driven environments

· Strong people management experience with the ability to lead and motivate operational teams

· Experience managing KPIs including throughput, productivity, stock accuracy, and quality performance

· Strong understanding of operational workflow and process control

· Hands-on leadership style with a visible presence on the operational floor

· Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills

· Comfortable working in fast-moving operational environments with changing priorities

· Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

Desirable Experience

· Previous experience within IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) or electronics refurbishment environments

· Understanding of data-bearing asset handling, chain of custody, or secure processing environments

· Experience with ERP, WMS, inventory management, or operational reporting systems

· Exposure to Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies

· Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
