About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sorter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse by ensuring that materials and products are sorted accurately and efficiently. This position requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Sort and organise materials and products for storage or shipment according to established guidelines
* Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage stock levels
* Handle materials with care, ensuring proper techniques for manual handling and safe handling practices
* Assist in picking and packing orders for shipping, ensuring accuracy in quantities and product selection
* Load and unload goods from lorries, maintaining a clean and organised work area throughout the process
* Participate in shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders
* Maintain knowledge of mechanical systems related to warehouse operations to assist with minor troubleshooting as needed
Experience
* Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, with a focus on sorting, stocking, or materials handling
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 is an advantage
* Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is preferred; relevant certifications are beneficial
* Knowledge of construction processes or mechanical systems can enhance performance in this role
* Ability to perform manual handling tasks as required, with support for individual needs where appropriate
Salary & Terms:
* £12.71 per hour
* Weekly pay
* 3-5 shifts a week
* Afternoon (PM) shifts
* Immediate start
