Accounting & Tax Associate – Manchester City Centre - Perm
Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Working Hours:
* 5 days per week
* 7 hours per day (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including 1-hour lunch break)
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting & Tax Associate to join our Manchester City Centre office. In this role, you will:
* Report to Senior Associates, Client Managers, and Partners
* Support the preparation of accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, Corporation Tax, and Self-Assessment Tax Returns
* Work under supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services to clients
* Be part of a team of approximately 20 staff
* Develop your technical skills and progress your career in a supportive environment
Key Duties
* Prepare accounts for clients
* Complete Corporation Tax computations and returns
* Prepare VAT returns
* Perform bookkeeping tasks
* Handle company secretarial duties
* Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals and partnerships
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice (preferred)
* High accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to manage time and meet deadlines under guidance
* Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
* Knowledge of CCH is preferable but not essential
* Ability to perform basic technical tasks, apply common sense, and understand core accounting concepts
