Sales & Marketing Support Assistant (Sales Trainee Pathway) Kettering Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs (Office based) Salary - £26k plus good benefits and progression/bonus We are working with a growing business that is entering an exciting phase of expansion. They are now looking to appoint a Sales & Marketing Support Assistant to play a key role in supporting their commercial teams, with a clear progression into a Sales Trainee position after an initial onboarding period. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and keen to develop a long-term career in sales. You will initially support Sales, Marketing, and Estimating functions, gaining a strong understanding of the business, products, and customers. After approximately three months, the role will begin transitioning into a more sales-focused position, including outbound calls, managing your own area, and taking ownership of projects. What You’ll Be Doing Sales Support (Initial Phase) Act as a first point of contact for incoming phone and email enquiries, handling them professionally and efficiently. Gather accurate customer information and log enquiries onto internal systems. Support the sales team with project-related calls and administrative follow-up. Assist with day-to-day sales administration to ensure deadlines are met and processes run smoothly. Marketing Support Assist with web order queries, contacting customers and identifying potential upsell opportunities. Send out product data sheets, CAD drawings, samples, and brochures in a timely manner. Support outgoing customer communications and postal activity. Estimating Support Register and manage new project enquiries accurately and efficiently. Maintain and update project and quotation records. Monitor shared inboxes, responding promptly or allocating enquiries to the appropriate teams. Assist with quotation preparation, updates, and amendments. Sales Development & Progression (After around 3 Months) As your product knowledge and confidence grow, the role will evolve into a Sales Trainee position, where you will: Begin making outbound calls to existing and prospective customers. Take ownership of a defined sales area or customer base. Manage your own projects from enquiry through to order. Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Support the wider sales strategy and contribute to revenue growth. Training, support, and mentoring will be provided to help you succeed in this transition.
