Auden House is a 24-bedroom care home providing residential and dementia care for elderly individuals. We are looking for a competent, highly organised, reliable, and committed individual with a professional approach to join our small team as a Night Care Assistant.
We are looking for someone who is dependable and ready to step in at any time. The ideal candidate will be proactive, passionate about care, and ambitious to contribute to creating the best person-centred environment for our residents. You will be genuinely valued and empowered as an integral part of our team.
Main Duties:
* Assist residents with their personal care needs in a sensitive and caring manner
* Regularly observe and care for residents
* Administer medication according to policies, procedures & protocols
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, with residents
* Make and change beds, manage soiled linen, and clean commodes
* Respond promptly to the call bell system
* Carry out night-time cleaning duties and maintain cleaning rotas
* Ensure laundry is washed, dried, ironed and put away
* Create and maintain accurate care records
* Adhere to Health & Safety policies & procedures
* Ensure the building is secure at all times
Person Specification:
* A reliable and approachable attitude is essential
* Experience in the care industry
* NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards this qualification)
* Able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week and on alternate weekends
* Ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks, and communicate effectively
* Friendly and caring attitude with a genuine interest in working with elderly people
* Empathetic and understanding towards older individuals
* Ability to lead when needed and work effectively within a team
