Carbon60 is proud to partner with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit a Bush Fit Honer for our machine shop department.
Lufthansa Technik is a global leader in maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.
This permanent Bush Fit Honer position is available due to ongoing growth and expansion. The role involves fitting bushes, checking tolerances with manual measuring tools, fitting and swaging bearings, and honing bushes.
Role Responsibilities include:
1. Checking component and bush logs for accuracy.
2. Installing bushes and bearings, and checking dimensions using workshop manuals and drawings.
3. Using imperial calibrated measuring equipment.
4. Swaging bushings via pressure, roller, stake, or material displacement methods.
5. Using cryogenics and ovens.
6. Carrying out hardness checks on components.
7. Maintaining knowledge of HPA's working procedures relevant to the role.
8. Performing tasks delegated by the Area Supervisor.
9. Honing bushes to final size.
10. Performing hardness tests with appropriate machines.
11. Understanding responsibilities outlined in the company's environmental procedures.
Skills and Experience required:
* Aerospace background is preferred but not essential.
* Experience in manufacturing or MRO environments is advantageous.
* Flexibility to work shift patterns, including transition to night shifts.

Initially, the role involves rotating day shifts: Monday to Friday, one week 6am-2pm, the next 2pm-10pm. The base salary is up to £34,000 plus shift allowances. After training, the shift transitions to a night shift (10pm-6am), with a night shift allowance of 34.1% of the base salary, up to £34,000.
