1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant – LS10 (South Leeds)
Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in South Leeds (LS10). This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom.
The Role:
* Work closely with a pupil who has special educational needs (SEN), providing 1:1 support throughout the school day.
* Adapt learning activities under teacher guidance to meet the pupil’s individual targets.
* Support with communication strategies (visual timetables, Makaton, PECS if required).
* Help with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social interaction.
* Assist with personal care or mobility support if needed.
* Build a trusting, positive relationship to help the pupil feel safe, supported, and confident.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and therapists to ensure the pupil is fully included in school life.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting children with SEN (ASC, SEMH, MLD, or complex needs).
* A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
* Knowledge of communication tools (Makaton, PECS) is desirable but not essential.
* Team Teach or behaviour management training (desirable – training can be provided).
* Enhanced DBS (child or child & adult workforce) on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
* Full-time availability – reliability and consistency are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
