Due to growth and promotion, we are looking to fill the integral role of Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will be an integral member of a small finance team, engaging collaboratively with various departments across the organization. This role primarily focuses on cost accounting, product costing, sales and margin analysis, department rates, and managing the fixed asset register. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills to effectively interpret data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Accounting
* Conduct sales and margin variance analysis at the project level
* Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
* Act as a business partner across departments
* Support internal and external audits
* Manage Innovate UK claims
* Prepare journal entries for contracts
* Maintain the fixed asset register
* Monitor capital expenditures
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Update and enhance forecasting models
* Compute product costs and establish department rates
* Provide support to internal stakeholders
* Contribute to transformational initiatives
Other Responsibilities
* Provide coverage for team members during absence
* Engage with leadership teams on finance-related matters
* Drive continuous process improvements
* Offer support to the wider finance team
Key Skills and Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in accounting/finance
* Understanding of audit and compliance processes
* Strong communication skills
* Proficiency in advanced Excel functions
* Ability to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
* Experience with ERP/SAP systems
* A mindset geared towards continuous improvement
