This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified Family Solicitor to join a growing and ambitious Family team in Chorley.
The role offers hands-on responsibility from an early stage, working on predominantly legal aid care proceedings while receiving strong supervision and development from an experienced Head of Department. The team has a strong reputation in care work and is continuing to expand, with plans to grow into new locations.
This role would suit a Newly Qualified Family Solicitor who wants to progress their career in care proceedings and potentially qualify in the future.

7. Ability to manage a caseload or strong readiness to do so

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients in care proceedings and wants a long-term future in family law.
What you’ll be doing
10. Managing a caseload of predominantly legal aid care proceedings (with supervision as required)
11. Drafting applications, statements and court documentation
12. Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and local professionals
13. Instructing counsel and preparing cases for hearings
14. Attending basic hearings once appropriately trained
15. Supporting the wider family team and Head of Department
Within your first 6 months, you’ll focus on becoming confident with internal systems and processes while managing files with support. By 12 months, you’ll be running a full caseload independently and contributing consistently to billing targets. Longer term, you’ll be a trusted fee earner within the team with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to networking activity.
