Overview
The post-holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Transfusion Practitioner team, including booking training and competency assessment sessions and recording training completion by employees, responding to telephone and email enquiries, and assisting with blood component traceability requirements by liaising with clinical areas to obtain evidence of transfusion in line with MHRA regulations.
To support the organisation and delivery of training programmes to staff, this role involves preparation of facilities and resources, booking training and competency sessions, booking staff onto the sessions, and providing them with appropriate information and resources as directed by the Transfusion Practitioner team. The post-holder will enter training and competency data into ESR to ensure accurate records of compliance with mandatory training and will enter training completion and allocate user barcodes to manage access rights for blood collection on the BloodTrack system.
Traceability: Liaise with Blood Bank to identify blood component units for which no evidence of traceability has been received; contact/visit clinical areas to retrieve documentary evidence of transfusion.
