The role provides an opportunity to take a leading position within a growing civil engineering team, contributing technical expertise across a wide range of development and infrastructure projects while supporting the ongoing growth, quality and capability of the team.
You will be responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of civil engineering and drainage solutions, including the detailed design of surface water and foul drainage systems, sustainable drainage strategies and external works. The role will involve the preparation, coordination and submission of statutory approval packages including S104, S38 and S278, alongside the production of high-quality technical documentation such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Impact Assessments to support planning applications and project delivery.
Working across all project stages, the role will involve leading schemes from early concept through planning, detailed design and construction support, ensuring that all designs and supporting documentation comply with statutory requirements, industry standards and best practice guidance. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, undertake site assessments where required, and provide clear, concise and well-structured technical reports to support decision-making and regulatory approvals.
The position will also involve providing technical leadership within the team, reviewing and coordinating the work of others, and offering guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to maintain consistently high technical standards. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies will be a key aspect of the role, alongside representing the Consultancy confidently in meetings and project discussions.
From a delivery perspective, you will manage their own workload in a structured and proactive manner while leading projects from both a technical and project management standpoint. Responsibilities will include managing project fees and costs, balancing resource demands, prioritising workloads, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently to agreed deadlines and client expectations. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk InfoDrainage (MicroDrainage) is essential to support efficient and accurate design delivery.
