Overview
IDEXX Livestock Diagnostics is seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Facilities Coordinator to be based in Wetherby, United Kingdom. This role supports facilities services for our laboratory and corporate office, with a focus on operational agility, high employee engagement, cost excellence, and safe and sustainable facilities management operations. The Facilities Coordinator reports to the Facilities Manager UK and works with internal and external teams as a primary point of contact for facilities-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
* Provide point of internal customer contact for facilities support and services.
* Receive, dispatch, and follow up on (maintenance) work orders.
* Maintain building and installation maintenance schedules (PPM).
* Manage and monitor operational FM services and drive continuous improvement.
* Manage site-related risks and support business continuity activities.
* Manage small projects such as internal office and lab moves in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
* Perform administrative facilities tasks (e.g., soliciting quotes for services, invoice verification, purchase order creation).
* Manage relations with 3rd party suppliers (e.g., maintenance, cleaning, waste handling, grounds & gardens) while complying with IDEXX screening standards and purchasing procedures.
* Conduct building audits to identify maintenance or repair needs and ensure a tidy appearance to meet IDEXX H&S standards.
* Oversee general office supplies for the site and order facilities items as required.
* Maintain waste streams and record data for sustainability reporting.
* Support technology implementation (e.g., space management modules, CMMS, energy monitoring, and work order systems).
* Participate in meetings regarding HSE where applicable.
* Maintain the quality system ensuring SOPs and documents are revised and up to date according to Quality standards.
* Assist with emergency fire evacuation and ensure fire marshals are up to date and compliant.
* Set up and clear meeting rooms for onsite meetings, ensuring areas are tidy.
* Participate in wellness incentives for the site.
* Respond to after-hours alarms or coordinate activities as needed to minimize disruption to operations.
Qualifications
* A proactive mindset and willingness to get things done.
* Strong organisational and coordination skills.
* Customer-oriented approach; you’ll work with a wide range of internal stakeholders in the corporate office and labs.
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Natural trouble shooter.
* Affinity with the technical environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* PC skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management and/or qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Installations and/or 3 years of proven experience in Facilities Management or Property Management.
