Clinical Team Leader – CAMHS High Intensity Unit

Our inpatient CAMHS is expanding to include a purpose‑built, 8‑bed High Intensity Environment/PICU opening in 2026 at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Team Leader or registered Mental Health Nurse looking to advance their career within the CAMHS setting.
As Clinical Team Leader you will:
* Provide innovative, high‑quality care to young people aged 13‑18 with acute mental illness.
* Lead the team, ensuring high‑quality care and supporting staff to deliver individualised care aligned with an integrated care programme approach.
* Assist in organising activities and be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of young people.
* Establish and develop effective liaison and communication with all disciplines, agencies, parents, carers and service users.
* Make judgments about appropriate models of treatment involving complex issues and situations, analysing and interpreting options.
* Participate in ward rounds, clinical case meetings and CPA reviews to address the needs of children, young people and their families/carers.
* Teach staff at all levels and promote the development of the service.
* Supervise and manage Band 5 Tier 4 CAMHS nurses, staff nurses and mental health support workers on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Complete a ‘Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression’ course; successful completion is a condition of employment.
* Undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost.
The position is a full‑time post of 37.5 hours per week for a 24‑hour service, with flexibility to discuss part‑time arrangements of 22.5 hours at interview stage. If you have any questions, including a ward tour, please contact Rebecca Matoug, Ward Manager.
