Overview
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Technician to join our HS2 team. This role is vital in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of materials used across our operations. If you have a strong technical mindset and a passion for continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Conduct field sampling and testing in line with inspection and test plans
* Inspect plant, equipment, stockpiles, and materials to identify and report issues
* Investigate material defects and non-conformities, supporting resolution and continuous improvement
* Provide technical support to production sites, depots, operational teams, and external customers
* Carry out site inspections and reviews to enhance working practices
* Ensure materials meet all relevant specifications and HS2 requirements
* Monitor third-party testing and maintain accurate records and reports
* Deliver technical training and toolbox talks to internal stakeholders
* Prepare and share data insights with internal and external teams
* Act as a substitute for the Technical Advisor when required
* Support additional duties as directed by the HS2 team
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in materials testing, quality assurance, or technical support
* Strong understanding of health & safety, environmental, and product quality standards
* Ability to interpret technical specifications and data
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* A collaborative approach and willingness to support cross-functional teams
