Position: Material Controller
Location: Port of Nigg, Scotland
Europlan Group is looking for a Material Controller who will play a key role in managing all project-related materials and equipment on-site, ensuring materials are received, stored, tracked, and delivered accurately and on time to support construction teams and keep the project running smoothly and safely.
The Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate inventory records of construction materials, tools, and equipment on site.
* Track stock levels, monitor consumption rates, and conduct regular stock checks.
* Record all material transactions including receipts, issues, and returns.
* Receive and inspect deliveries, verifying quality and quantity against purchase orders.
* Report damaged goods or discrepancies promptly and coordinate corrective actions.
* Store materials safely and systematically to prevent damage or loss.
* Distribute materials and equipment to construction teams according to project requirements.
* Assist with procurement activities including purchase orders, supplier coordination, and obtaining competitive quotes.
* Monitor material costs, minimize waste, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
* Prepare regular reports on stock levels, usage, and material-related issues.
* Work closely with construction teams, suppliers, and project management to resolve material challenges.
* Maintain construction tools and equipment, arranging repairs or replacements where required.
* Ensure all materials handling complies with site health and safety procedures.
The Qualifications
Essential
* Experience as a Material Controller, Storeman, or in inventory management on construction or industrial sites.
* Strong background in warehousing, logistics, or materials management.
* Valid Safe Pass Card and Manual Handling Certificate.
* Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and site equipment.
* Good computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
* Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proactive attitude with effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
* Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial construction projects.
* Experience working within EPC or EPCM project environments.
* Understanding of construction site logistics and materials coordination.
