Job Description
We’re working with an independent creative agency in London that specialises in premium brands, predominately in FMCG, They sit at the intersection of brand strategy, design and activation - working with global clients on everything from positioning and brand worlds through to packaging, toolkits and campaigns.
They’re looking for an Account Director to sit at the heart of their biggest client relationships – someone who can keep the work on brief and on strategy, while pushing for brilliant creative.
The role
You’ll be the senior day-to-day lead on key global accounts, working closely with strategy and creative to make sure the work is smart, original and actually solves the client’s problem. This isn’t a pure project management role - they have people who handle the detail - but you do need to be across the work and able to “catch” things early if they’re off brief.
You’ll read a room well, keep things moving, and know when to challenge, when to push, and when to protect the work.
Someone who is a strong strategy player, appreciates creative and is on the way up when it comes to leadership would be the perfect fit for this role.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading senior client relationships on global premium brands
* Getting under the skin of the client’s business and brand challenges
* Turning often-loose client asks into clear problems, briefs and territories
* Working with strategy to shape the right solution (not just what’s been asked for)
* Partnering with creative directors and designers to keep work on strategy and on standard
* Spotting when work isn’t good enough or isn’t answering the brief – and course-correcting early
* Guiding teams through complex brand and packaging projects, toolkits, launches and activations
* Helping grow and deepen accounts – spotting opportunities and shaping them into real projects
* Coaching and supporting more junior team members across client service and project management
You won’t be spending your whole week writing timing plans and quotes, you’ll support where needed, but the focus is on leading the account, not admin.
What you’ll bring
* Solid experience as a Senior Account Manager or Account Director in a brand / design / creative agency
* Strong brand experience, ideally with some exposure to premium drinks brands
* Comfortable with strategic, sometimes ambiguous briefs, not just straight “make this ad” work
* A genuine eye for good creative and design, you know what good looks like and how it’s made
* Confidence working with senior clients and helping them refine the real problem they’re trying to solve
* Pragmatism. Able to balance ambition with what’s realistic for client, budget and timing
* Hunger to grow with the agency rather than simply sit in a “steady state” AD role
* Willingness to work in-studio, alongside the team, most of the time
The practical bits
* Salary: £55k–£70k depending on experience
* Working pattern: full-time, mostly in the studio (with sensible flexibility for life stuff)
