Our client is looking for a proactive and technically strong Health & Safety Compliance Manager to lead, influence, and embed a positive safety culture across their site in Walkden. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice. You’ll act as the site’s technical authority on H&S, supporting operational teams, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all activities are carried out safely, responsibly, and legally. Key Responsibilities Statutory Compliance, Systems & Documentation * Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements * Maintain and develop H&S management systems, policies, and procedures * Lead audits, inspections, and reviews, ensuring actions are tracked and closed Fire & Emergency Management * Lead fire safety management across the site * Conduct and review fire risk assessments * Manage emergency planning, drills, and response procedures Incident Management & Investigation * Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformances * Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions * Report findings and trends to senior stakeholders Equipment, Training & Competence * Oversee statutory inspections and compliance of equipment and plant * Ensure appropriate H&S training is delivered and maintained * Coach, mentor, and support managers and teams to raise safety awareness Culture & Continuous Improvement * Promote a strong, positive safety culture across all levels of the business * Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams and leadership * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve performance Person Specification Essential Qualifications * NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) * Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment / Fire Safety Management qualification Experience & Skills * Proven experience in a Health & Safety compliance or management role * Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation * Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels * Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused * Comfortable acting as the site’s technical specialist and point of escalation
