Responsibilities and duties of the Environmental Advisor role
Reporting to the Environmental Manager you will:
Provide day-to-day environmental support to project and site teams
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and site requirements
Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), method statements, and risk assessments
Identify environmental risks and assist in implementing mitigation measures
Carry out site inspections, monitoring, and environmental audits
Support environmental incident investigations and reporting
Maintain accurate environmental records and contribute to performance reporting
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders
Promote environmental awareness and best practice across site
Support sustainability initiatives including waste management and resource efficiency
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, or a regulated industry
Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams
Proactive approach to environmental management
