The role
Charges Advisor Situated in North Worcestershire, Redditch Borough Council is responsible for providing housing services to our tenants and leaseholders. We are creating a dedicated Charges Team to deliver fair, transparent, and legally compliant service charges and income services for our residents. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service and make a real difference to our communities. We are looking for a Charges Advisor to provide administrative support to Charges Officers and the Team Leader. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support the delivery of our Housing Income Service, with a focus on service charges, leaseholder consultation, and income recovery. Key Responsibilities Support the administration of service charges to tenants and leaseholders, including annual rent and service charge setting Assist with Section 20 consultations, recharges, and former tenant debt recovery Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring a high-quality service Maintain accurate records and produce reports to support decision-making Investigate discrepancies and process adjustments, credits, and refunds Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective service delivery Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with legislation and best practice You will have strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Experience handling financial data and customer enquiries. Knowledge of housing income, service charges, or debt recovery. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with strong communication and customer engagement skills. A level 2 qualification in subjects relevant to the role and at least 12 months experience in a similar relevant role.
