Full-time (Monday-Friday), hours 08:00–15:30, salary paid to national (or school) scale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team in Redhill. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with class teachers to promote academic progress, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND.
* Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
* Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive resources.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents.
* Foster a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment.
* Contribute to team meetings, safeguarding duties and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Level 2 (or higher) Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in a Secondary School setting, or equivalent.
* Experience working with children who have SEND, preferably in a mainstream secondary school.
* Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
* First Aid and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
