PPC Lead

Hybrid (3 days in the office) | UK (Liverpool / Leeds / Dunfermline) | Full-time

At Velstar, paid media plays a critical role in driving growth for ambitious eCommerce brands. We're looking for a PPC Lead to provide operational leadership for our PPC function, setting clear direction, embedding best practice, and ensuring consistently high-quality, commercially effective delivery across all paid media channels.

This is a senior role combining team leadership, operational oversight and hands-on expertise, ideal for someone who enjoys building high-performing teams while staying close to delivery and outcomes.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Paid Media, you'll lead the PPC team's day-to-day operation, owning delivery standards, resourcing, utilisation and commercial performance. Alongside managing and developing the team, you'll retain a small portfolio of more complex client accounts and act as a senior escalation point for delivery, quality or resourcing challenges.

You'll play a key role in aligning PPC strategy with Velstar's wider proposition, ensuring paid media contributes meaningfully to client success and the agency's commercial growth.

What you'll be doing

* Leading and line-managing the PPC team, with responsibility for performance, development and retention

* Owning resourcing, capacity planning and project allocation to maximise billable utilisation

* Ensuring PPC delivery across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Amazon Ads meets client objectives and commercial targets

* Acting as the primary escalation point for delivery, quality or performance issues

* Maintaining high delivery standards while minimising rework through clear processes and quality control

* Supporting sales activity, pitches and key client conversations when required

* Managing internal costs including tools, software and contractor usage

* Collaborating closely with other Team Leads and Heads of Department to support smooth cross-team delivery

* Implementing and improving PPC processes, workflows and reporting

* Reporting on utilisation, productivity and profitability to senior leadership

What we're looking for

You're an experienced PPC leader who combines deep paid media expertise with strong commercial and people management skills. You're comfortable owning outcomes, making decisions, and setting clear expectations for your team.

You'll likely have:

* 5+ years' experience leading PPC strategy in an agency environment

* Deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (Amazon Ads experience preferred)

* Proven success managing large budgets and driving ROAS growth

* Experience leading, coaching and developing PPC teams

* Strong commercial awareness and confident client communication skills

* Experience supporting or presenting in new business pitches

Why Velstar?

* Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week in our Liverpool or Leeds office)

* A senior leadership role with real influence over a core growth channel

* The opportunity to shape processes, standards and team capability at scale

* A collaborative environment that values delivery excellence and commercial clarity

* The chance to work with ambitious eCommerce brands investing seriously in paid media

If you're ready to step into a leadership role where you can shape a PPC function and drive real commercial impact, we'd love to hear from you.
