Job Title: Housing Options OfficerRef: W Northamptonshire RQ1580298 Pay rate: £23.46 per hour PAYERole length: Anticipated 3 monthsWorking Arrangement: Full time on site/ Hybrid working to be discussedDBS requirement: An Enhanced DBS is required for this roleAdditional requirement: A Driving Licence is required for this roleThe role:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housing Options Officer to join the Housing Services team.As a Housing Options Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, prevention-focused service to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.You will be responsible for assessing housing needs and providing advice and support in accordance with relevant legislation.Key Responsibilities:
* Manage caseloads in line with Part VI and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996
* Apply the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 effectively, including conducting thorough assessments and creating robust Personalised Housing Plans
* Deliver a prevention-focused approach to homelessness, supporting service users to sustain accommodation or access suitable housing
* Assess complex cases, including those with a history of rough sleeping
* Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve sustainable housing outcomes
What the client is looking for:
* In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience of housing legislation, particularly Parts VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996
* Proven ability to apply the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 in a practical setting
* Experience working in a housing options or homelessness prevention role
* Ability to assess complex cases and develop personalised and effective housing solutions
* Excellent communication, case management, and problem-solving skills
