Overview
As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of residents to enable quality, person-centred care and support. You will lead a team of care staff, including training, supervision and delegating duties on shift. You will also support administering and ordering medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessments, and liaising with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members. You will always respect the dignity and preferences of residents and contribute to creating a warm, welcoming and vibrant environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of care staff on shift; provide training and delegate duties as needed.
* Assist with administering and ordering medication; review and update resident care plans and risk assessments.
* Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members to ensure coordinated care.
* Uphold dignity, preferences and wellbeing of residents; contribute to a warm, welcoming environment.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Previous experience in a residential care setting.
* Proven leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support residents' needs and wellbeing.
