Job Purpose
SYDIC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to support young people in the Aber Valley. This role involves engaging with local youth, providing guidance, and creating a safe, supportive environment where they can develop socially, emotionally, and educationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging youth sessions that promote personal development and wellbeing.
* Build positive relationships with young people, offering support and encouragement.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, local partners, and community organisations.
* Facilitate discussions, activities, and programmes that enhance life skills and confidence.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed to maintain a safe environment for all participants.
* Promote inclusivity, ensuring all young people feel valued and welcome.
* Record attendance and progress, assisting in reporting outcomes to funders.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience working with young people in a community or youth setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
* Ability to engage and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.
Desirable:
* A relevant qualification in youth work or community engagement.
* Knowledge of local issues affecting young people.
* Experience working with funding bodies and reporting on programme outcomes.
