Teaching Personnel is now recruiting enthusiastic graduates for teaching assistant roles starting in the 2025/2026 academic year. You’ll be working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), which may include mental health difficulties, physical disabilities, or emotional and behavioural challenges. Compassion, patience, and empathy are essential qualities for this role. You’ll be supporting children and young people aged 5 to 16, helping to shape their educational journey.

Position Overview:

* Typical hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary by school)
* Monday to Friday, term-time only
* Potential to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate

Your Responsibilities:
* Provide support to students with SEN, either one-to-one or in small groups
* Collaborate with other support staff to enhance classroom learning
* Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons that keep students focused and engaged
* Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
* Build positive, supportive relationships with students
* Assist with classroom tasks and learning activities as needed

Who We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (in any context) is highly valued
* A sincere interest in education—whether continuing your path or starting something new
* Confident communication and behaviour management skills
* Educational experience is a plus, but not required—your attitude and commitment matter most
