Role Summary

The post holder will lead on all aspects of clinical governance for multiple organizations across different industries within Trauma Resus's client group.


What you’ll be doing

1. Lead on various aspects of internal clinical governance as directed by the director of quality, Head of Clinical Governance, or Chief Medical Officer.
2. Attend all internal clinical governance meetings.
3. Lead on various quality improvement projects.
4. Lead on all external clinical governance matters with respective clients, including:
o Conducting first aid / medical needs assessments
o Producing quality improvement plans
o Forming clinical governance committees
o Chairing clinical governance meetings in the absence of the medical director
o Conducting quality assurance audits
o Testing emergency response plans
o Detailed report writing
o Acting as a professional subject matter expert and representing the values and ethos of Trauma Resus at all times.
o Providing clinical advice
o Supporting the delivery of cold debriefs following serious incidents
5. Ensure contractual commitments regarding call frequency, audits, and meetings with clients are maintained.
6. Complete external audit programs as scheduled and ensure timely reporting.
7. Ensure all actions from audits are addressed within agreed timescales.
8. Support and advise on trauma, resuscitation, first aid, and related training courses, policies, protocols, and SOPs.
9. Advise on equipment procurement.
10. Support the production and updating of training materials aligned with current evidence-based guidelines.
11. Create safety alerts, position statements, and other clinical documents.
12. Escalate concerns to the associate medical director or chief medical officer as needed.
13. Support internal instructor training days.
14. Mentor and precept new staff.
15. Deliver training across the UK on various Trauma Resus courses as required.
16. Maintain all issued training equipment according to TRS guidance.
17. Ensure compliance with external accreditation standards.
18. Support Trauma Resus exhibitions and conferences.
19. Assist in equipment orders.
20. Provide offshore medic cover once qualified, if required.
21. Perform additional duties as needed to support the business.

Requirement

Qualifications

* Current professional registration with NMC or HCPC.
* ALS, APLS, PHTLS certifications.
* Level 3 Teaching & Assessing qualification or equivalent.
* GIC / GIC instructor certification.
* Full UK driving license.
* Training in Human Factors.
* Leadership & Management experience.
* Internal Quality Assurance or commitment to achieve it.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety standards.

Experience

* Clinical practice involving trauma patients requiring resuscitation.
* Delivering training to staff at various levels.
* Leading and managing teams.
* Influencing external stakeholders.
* Managing risk and clinical governance issues.
* Working with accrediting bodies.

Skills

* Understanding challenges in pre-hospital care delivery.
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
