Overview

Role: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Location: Longdon Hall School, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS15 4PT

Salary:£20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Rota: Monday 8.30am – 4.30pm; Tuesday to Thursday 8.30am – 4.00pm; Friday 8.30am – 3.45pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start Date: October 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Longdon Hall School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our teachers to deliver creative, personalised learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone beginning or continuing their career in education—especially if youre motivated to inspire and support pupils with varied and complex needs. You’ll be part of a school where safeguarding is paramount, pupils are respected and heard, and quality is at the heart of everything we do.


What Youll Do

* Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage and learn effectively
* Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery
* Prepare classrooms and learning materials to create a stimulating environment
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage interaction and progress

While experience in SEN/ASC settings is desirable, we value your motivation, resilience, and personal qualities just as highly. We welcome applicants from customer-facing roles such as retail, hospitality, and leisure who are ready to make a meaningful impact.

Requirements

* GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
* Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
* Calm, engaging, resilient, and a strong team player
* Passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential

Longdon Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 7 to 18, catering for pupils with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

This opportunity is in Lichfield which is within commutable distance of Cannock, Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas.
