About the Role
An established and rapidly growing transport planning and infrastructure consultancy is seeking an Assistant Transport Planner to join its expanding Newcastle office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to work on a wide range of development projects, supporting planning applications across residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
Support site appraisals, access strategies and feasibility studies
Analyse traffic data, transport surveys and junction performance
Prepare technical reports, drawings and supporting documentation
Conduct site visits and data collection
Support senior staff across the planning application lifecycle
Liaise with clients, local authorities and project teams
Requirements
Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Interest in development planning, highways or infrastructure
Desirable:
Consultancy experience (placement or 6-12 months+)
Exposure to Transport Assessments / planning process
