JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Mass Academy is seeking a part-time Physical Education Teacher to lead weekly PE classes that promote wellness, fitness, and healthy habits for high-achieving high school students. This temporary, on-site role supports our commitment to student well-being and balance during the fall semester.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness, health education, teamwork, and stress relief.
2. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where students of all fitness levels feel safe and motivated to participate.
3. Emphasize individual and cooperative activities that complement Mass Academy’s focus on student well-being and balance.
4. Encourage lifelong healthy habits through varied physical activities such as cardio and team sports.
5. Collaborate with staff to align wellness programming with broader school initiatives.
6. Maintain appropriate safety standards and supervision in all physical activities.
7. Uphold and model the values of respect, equity, and responsibility in every aspect of instruction and student interaction.
Qualifications
8. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
9. Massachusetts teaching licensure in Physical Education (grades 5–12) or eligibility for licensure.
10. Experience teaching high school students, particularly in a nontraditional or academically advanced setting, is a plus.
11. Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
12. A passion for wellness education and commitment to supporting the whole student.
