Are you a compassionate and dynamic senior nurse ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a strong, visible nursing leader to join our team as Head of Nursing for Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthetics working across the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and South Sites, as part of Division C at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
As Head of Nursing, you will work as part of the Care Group triumvirate alongside the Clinical Director and General Manager. You’ll lead our nursing teams with kindness, clarity and confidence, ensuring high standards of care, patient safety and staff wellbeing are embedded in everything we do.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Providing professional nursing leadership across Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthetics
2. Driving improvements in patient outcomes, safety and experience
3. Leading on workforce planning, development and retention
4. Supporting innovation, quality improvement and service transformation
5. Championing a just and inclusive culture where staff feel heard, valued and supported
You’ll play a key role in shaping the future direction of the service while supporting the Trust’s wider goals and values.
This post is offered as a 1-year secondment opportunity. Agreement from your current line manager will be required before appointment.
The successful candidate will also be expected to join the Trust’s Silver on-call rota as part of their responsibilities.
