Health and Safety Coordinator - Promoting Workplace Safety
Role Summary
We are thrilled to present an outstanding opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Group Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practices. With the goal of minimizing operational losses, occupational health issues, accidents, and injuries, your focus will be on cultivating a positive health and safety culture in collaboration with operational teams.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all site risk assessments, including fire safety, operational safety, manual handling, COSHH, DSE, and noise assessments, are up to date, regularly reviewed, and adhere to best practices.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of site health and safety performance to ensure full compliance with group policy.
* Thoroughly investigate all accidents and near misses following group systems and reporting procedures, while maintaining accurate and accessible documentation.
* Monitor and maintain health and safety equipment checks.
* Support the Group Health and Safety Manager in processing new liability claims information.
* Collaborate with the training department to deliver and evaluate health and safety training programs and toolbox talks based on divisional recommendations.
* Chair health and safety committee meetings and drive actionable results.
* Design and implement promotional campaigns to continually foster health and safety awareness.
* Provide support for site inductions, ensuring new colleagues and transferees understand their health and safety responsibilities.
* Assist the Group Health and Safety Manager in maintaining quality accreditations.
* Play a pivotal role during external audits.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve the site's health and safety management system.
Qualifications And Experience
* Preferred background in Engineering.
* Possess IOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
* IOSH Fire Certificate (desirable).
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and health and safety information systems to generate accurate and visually-engaging reports.
* Experience in delivering training is desirable.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with manufacturing site safety standards.
* Up to date with current legislation.
* Self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of delivering, reporting, and advising on KPI performance.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30/9am - 5pm
