We are recruiting a Distribution Manager to join our team at Tarmac in the Midlands Region. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage our delivery operations, ensuring products are delivered timely and maintaining high customer service standards. You will lead a delivery planning team and Customer Service team based in our Mountsorrel office in Quorn near Loughborough, Leicestershire, with accessible locations from Leicester, Melton Mowbray, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Senior Regional Logistics Manager, managing deliveries across the Midlands and leading delivery planners and Customer Service teams.
* Collaborate with contracted haulage drivers, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers.
* Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support logistics strategies and high customer service levels.
* Manage and motivate staff; review performance; support professional development; optimize team contributions.
* Ensure robust customer service, balancing compliance and service quality.
* Optimize distribution schedules for maximum productivity and on-time/in-full deliveries.
* Provide monthly performance reports, address underperformance, and drive improvements.
* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within distribution.
Ideal Candidate
Suitable candidates will be commercially savvy, with experience in logistics or similar roles, and proven people management skills. They will possess strong negotiation, customer service, coaching, and organizational skills, with the ability to think creatively, prioritize, and communicate effectively. Patience, resilience, high integrity, and the ability to influence others are essential.
