We are seeking a part-time Lecturer in Therapeutic Arts to join the University of Derby. This 0.8 FTE, 2 year fixed term contract role focuses on training the next generation of Arts Therapists, with emphasis on graduate employability. Responsibilities
Learning / Teaching
* Effectively teach and facilitate learning on a range of subjects/modules within the subject area for undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and post-experience programmes.
* Ensure knowledge from research informs teaching and extends to external activities such as knowledge transfer.
* Ensure module/programme design and delivery comply with University quality standards.
* Participate in assessment processes, including setting, marking and moderation of work, with constructive feedback in line with QA procedures.
* Contribute to ongoing module/programme development with innovative study modes and pedagogic practices.
* Take on module or programme leadership responsibilities as appropriate.
Research / Scholarship
* Engage in individual and collaborative research aligned with College aims and REF contributions.
* Publish in quality journals and present at scholarly events; develop industry and professional links.
* Contribute to writing bids for externally funded research projects.
Other
* Act as a personal tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance.
* Support marketing and recruitment activities; develop external links for placements and outreach.
* Manage administrative duties related to admissions, timetabling, examinations and progress/attendance.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Masters in Art Therapy
* HCPC registration as an Art Therapist
* Fellowship of the Advanced HE (HEA) or willingness to work towards
* PhD (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards within a timeframe
Experience
* Clinical experience as an Art Therapist
Learning / Teaching
* Experience or knowledge of quality assurance and validation of HE modules/programmes
* Experience or knowledge of higher education and diverse delivery techniques
Research / Scholarship
* Demonstrable experience of developing knowledge within the field
* Experience of research or enterprise activity
* Evidence of publishing in high-quality journals or outputs contributing to REF or related strategies
