Role Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated and reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to ensure the effective installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, fire suppression, emergency lighting & Nursecall systems in full compliance with UK fire safety legislation and industry standards. As a Fire Alarm Engineer you will support the safety of their clients premises in ensuring all fire alarm systems operate reliably and are working in accordance with the BS 5839 series, BS 7671, and manufacturer specifications. The role ensures that systems are correctly designed, installed, tested, and maintained, contributing to life safety, regulatory compliance, and the overall fire strategy of each site.
Key Responsibilities
Servicing & Maintenance, reactive works and installation of fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency lighting & Nursecall systems
Ensure all work is compliant with BS5839 Pt 1:2017, BS5266, and ISO 9001:2015 standards
Work closely with clients to help minimise fire risk and promote safety compliance
Maintain and repair fire alarms, nursecall, and emergency lighting systems on service contracts and during reactive callouts
Ensure timely and safe delivery and commissioning of fire safety equipment
Plan and prioritise work effectively within your assigned area
Promote and upsell our clients full range of services, including carrying out surveys and producing quotations
Record all work activities and findings using a digital device (training provided)
Meet and exceed agreed performance targets
Liaise with the Electrical Manager and wider team as required
Work independently in the field, with full support and training from Head Office
Qualifications
EAL Level 3 Award in Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (BS 5839-1) (or equivalent)
5 years experience in this field
