Main duties of the job

* Provide Administrative support to clinical and non-clinical services.
* To work as part of a team.
* To answer telephone and/or email enquiries, processing and maintaining records (paper and electronic), using SystmOne updating databases and spread sheets, scanning, typing, photocopying, and arranging meetings/events
* To receive telephone calls from patients who wish to book or change their appointments or have general enquiries.
* To act as a first point of contact for all forms of communication.

Person Specification


Qualifications and Professional Training

* NVQ Level 2, GCSE Level or equivalent experience
* Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook


Experience & Knowledge

* Previous experience of dealing with the public and taking telephone enquiries
* Experience of accurate data inputting
* Ability to produce work of a good standard with attention to detail


Skills and Attributes

* Good oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Ability to communicate sensitively with all staff groups, patients and their families
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to produce work of a good standard with attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines


Personal Qualities

* Flexible
* Ability to use own initiative but understand the need to seek advice when necessary
* Proactive
* Ability to travel to clinics/meetings/sessions across the Trust
