We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to join our team and provide outstanding technical support to staff, students, and families. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our IT systems, supporting both curriculum delivery and the day-to-day operations of the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide and maintain computer and audio-visual facilities for curriculum and administrative needs.
* Assist in maintaining the school's administrative network infrastructure.
* Administer Active Directory login accounts, group memberships, and Group Policy within a Windows Active Directory environment.
* Monitor network use and report suspected misuse.
* Support the maintenance and development of the school Management Information System (SIMS).
* Support the development and effective use of curriculum technology.
* Set up, connect, and maintain hardware and peripherals across the school.
* Provide first-line maintenance and troubleshooting for networked and standalone equipment.
* Support Windows 11 PCs, laptops, tablets, and Apple products (iOS, OSX).
* Install and configure software across the network and on individual machines.
* Provide day-to-day IT advice and support to staff and students.
* Assist with the support of CCTV, telephony, and access control systems.
* Support the iPad 1:1 scheme: manage the iPad loan system, liaise with parents on repairs/claims, ensure timely updates and audits, and troubleshoot iPad-related issues.
* Liaise with external providers to minimise downtime and ensure rapid turnaround of repairs.
* Contribute to the ongoing maintenance, cleaning, and safe operation of IT and multimedia equipment.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Head of School.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in supporting a range of technologies including:
* Windows 10/11, iOS, OSX, Hyper-V, MS Server (2008–2016), Exchange365, SQL, RDS, SCCM, AD, Google Suite, MDM, Networking & Wi-Fi, Printing.
* Confident in troubleshooting both hardware and software issues.
* Knowledgeable in SIMS or similar school Management Information Systems (desirable).
* Organised, efficient, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
* A strong communicator, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to staff, students, and parents.
* Enthusiastic about supporting teaching and learning through innovative use of technology.

We are a new free school, in our sixth year since opening with students in Year R and Years 7-11 in our new building in Horsham, West Sussex. Over the next few years we will grow to become an all-through school for 1620 students aged 4-16, with a nursery facility. We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility.
