Job Overview
The Family Intervention Team within Children and Family Services seeks a key worker to support families with multiple and complex needs. Responsibilities include working with families suffering child poverty, at risk of eviction due to anti‑social behaviour, financial hardship, as well as those associated with prolific adult offenders, substance misuse, and domestic violence.
Responsibilities
* Work persistently and intensively with targeted families, adopting a holistic "think family" approach.
* Provide support across a complex child and family workload, covering Child Protection, Children with Disabilities, Looked‑after Children and Care Leavers, following procedures and with the support of Children's Social Care.
* Take a lead role on Child in Need cases when allocated.
Qualifications
Experienced in working with ‘hard‑to‑reach’ children and families who present challenging behaviour, and who demonstrate an outcomes‑focused approach. Candidates should have proven assessment, analytical and reflective skills, experience as a Lead Professional, and the ability to work within a framework of "support and challenge".
Working Conditions
Due to the Covid pandemic, key workers operate in a hybrid model: 2 days a week in an office environment and the remainder working from home, completing visits from a home base.
