Milton Keynes NHS Talking Therapies (MKTT) is seeking to recruit two trainee High Intensity Therapists to undertake their placements within the service.
The service wishes to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced individuals to TRAIN to provide High Intensity interventions within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework. This individual would train to deliver a range of CBT interventions, including monitoring client outcomes and contributing to the development of the MKTT service and treatment programs.
The post will be academically challenging and located in a fast-paced work environment; the successful individual will be target-driven and have some mental healthcare experience. This person will also help us deliver and maintain our successful trajectory on our local and national KPI’s.
Main duties of the job
This is a training role within the MKTT service. The post-holder will work within the service providing high-intensity interventions while undertaking a training program. This intensive training will equip the post-holder to provide a CBT service to clients with complex problems for which CBT is effective.
The post-holder will work in the service for 3 days a week, applying newly developed skills, and attend training for 2 days. The post-holder will work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols.
* Assess clients for suitability for CBT and refer complex cases to a supervisor.
* Decide on referral suitability and refer or redirect as appropriate.
* Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programs.
* Involve family members and convey CBT formulations clearly.
* Adhere to activity contracts to ensure accessible treatment.
* Attend multidisciplinary meetings as needed.
* Complete data collection and maintain clinical records.
* Collaborate with team members for step-up and step-down care.
* Assess and incorporate work and employment issues into therapy.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential: Graduate-level qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, or psychological therapy.
Desirable: Experience in stepped care services for anxiety and depression.
Experience
Essential: Experience in mental health services, caseload management, high standards in communication, and report writing.
Desirable: Experience in services with clinical outcome targets and primary care.
Knowledge
Essential: Understanding of anxiety, depression, their presentation in primary care, impact of work on mental health, medication, and evidence-based therapies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
