We are seeking an Assistant Co‑ordinator to support the day‑to‑day facility and property management of Fife Council’s business property portfolio within the Business and Employability Service of Place Directorate.
This role plays an important part in the delivery of Fife’s economic development objectives, helping to create the right environment for businesses to start, grow and thrive. It is part of the wider InvestFife proposition for indigenous and inward investment enquiries.
You will contribute to the effective management of Council‑owned business properties by:
1. Carrying out regular property inspections
2. Liaising with tenants, contractors and partner services
3. Supporting compliance and health & safety activity
4. Assisting with financial monitoring and record keeping
5. Helping ensure premises remain safe, welcoming and fit‑for‑purpose for local businesses
6. Supporting the wider Economic Development team in helping businesses operate successfully within our property portfolio. Referring to wider business support and service interventions via Business Gateway Fife.
7. The role involves a mix of lone and collaborative working, with a blended pattern of office, site-based and home working.
The Person
You will have:
8. A relevant qualification at SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (. HNC), or equivalent experience in property or facilities management
9. The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
10. Strong communication skills to advise tenants, support business needs and ensure compliance with property standards
11. Experience working with customers, contractors or partner organisations
12. Experience maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance or health & safety activity
13. The ability to travel independently across Fife to undertake inspections and attend meetings
