Job Description
voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Controller to join our team. The Finance Controller will manage the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support growth and sustainability. The role involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and developing internal controls. The position also includes financial risk management. Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Oversee production of management accounts and KPIs, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
* Present and explain variances to the Finance Director and SMT heads.
* Challenge department heads on financial performance.
* Support the preparation of annual accounts.
* Oversee weekly reporting and dashboards.
* Manage month-end and year-end routines.
* Report financial information to external stakeholders.
* Monitor and analyze financial performance for improvements and cost savings.
1. Financial Controls:
* Oversee CAPEX requests, processes, and controls.
* Manage balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets.
* Ensure proper assessment of stock, maintenance, and provisions.
* Maintain expense and credit card policies.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting operations.
* Support annual budget and rolling forecast production.
* Assist with commercial assessments of new contracts and tenders.
* Prepare budgets and mid-term plans.
3. Audit:
* Lead the annual audit process.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
* Develop financial policies and procedures.
* Coordinate year-end processes with auditors and tax advisors.
* Prepare tax packs and accounts analysis for statutory and tax purposes.
* Gather information for R&D tax claims.
4. Working Capital Management:
* Manage cash flow and 13-week rolling forecasts.
* Oversee supplier payments and communication.
* Oversee debtor invoicing and customer communication.
* Authorize bank payments and prepare VAT returns.
5. Other Duties:
* Collaborate across departments to support business objectives.
* Manage and mentor the finance team.
* Lead continuous improvement and system review projects.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 ACA qualification, ideally Level 4 ACA.
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
* Over 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
* Advanced degree in Accounting.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Chartered Accountant with audit experience.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* High integrity and professionalism.
What We Offer
Core hours: approximately 35.5 hours/week:
* 08:00 - 16:00 Monday,
* 08:00 - 16:30 Tuesday-Thursday,
* 08:00 - 12:00 Friday
