Ty Hafan is a children’s hospice located on the Vale of Glamorgan coastline. The role is to join our clinical leadership team as a Band 7 Lead Nurse on a 2 year fixed term contract, delivering holistic family-centred care to our caseload of children, young people and their families.
About The Role
* Role focus: Strong operational leadership for clinical services at our 10-bed hospice in Sully, combining clinical expertise with management skills.
* Significant leadership experience in a palliative or acute paediatric setting at Band 6 level or above is required.
As a Lead Nurse you will provide visible, compassionate, professional and high-quality leadership to the hospice-based care team. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care, uphold professional standards, and ensure high standards of clinical care, safety and governance. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement and innovation in palliative and end-of-life care.
You will be present to lead clinical oversight and provide interventions and clinical care for complex or urgent cases, following correct policies and procedures.
The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, working 3 x 12.5 hour shifts over a 7 day week (Monday to Sunday) with on-call duties.

* As a Registered Nurse you will have experience of leading and managing a shift in high-stress situations.
* Reporting to the Head of Nursing, you will contribute to continuous development and improvement of the service.
* You will have strong communication skills to work collaboratively with your team and the wider organisation.
* You will be a team player with a value-based approach to staff development.
