To contribute to the development of provision of child and adolescent mental health services across the boroughs of Northumberland, including the development and provision of Mental Health Support Teams. The role involves increasing awareness of the needs of this client group at primary care level through the sharing of clinical knowledge and expertise using a model of consultation/liaison/teaching and training/research and development with primary care colleagues. It includes awareness of the three core functions of the Mental Health Support Teams – the provision of 1:1 evidence‑based interventions, consultation/advise and signposting, and delivery of whole‑school approaches in the trailblazer areas.
Key responsibilities include participating in service improvement projects to keep children and young people at the forefront of delivery, collaborating across the emotional and mental health pathway, and coordinating resources for efficient and equitable provision.

 * Identify gaps in service provision and help develop services to meet the needs of this client group.
 * Provide clinical and case management supervision to clinicians within the service, ensuring high‑quality care and patient safety.
 * Support service leads to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources.
 * Role‑model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the service and the Trust.

Responsibilities
Line‑manage and clinically supervise clinicians in the PMHW and Mental Health Support Teams in schools, ensuring quality and patient safety is paramount to service provision.
Support the service lead in the successful deployment of future MHST roll‑outs, ensuring fidelity of the model.
Work with the service lead to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources.
Hold a clinical case load providing direct care to the client group.
Identify gaps in service provision and help develop services accordingly.
Role‑model compassionate and inclusive leadership to create a collective leadership culture within the Trust.
Person Specification
Qualifications
 * Degree or equivalent level of relevant experience.
 * Core professional qualification and professional registration (e.g., 1st level nurse, doctorate in clinical psychology, qualified social worker, counselling, occupational therapy).
 * Professional registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, BABCP, Social Work England).
 * Post registration training in Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
 * Registered mentor or willingness to complete training and experience of delivering clinical supervision/CBT supervision or a qualification in supervision.
 * A recognised teaching and training qualification or experience of delivering teaching.
Experience & Knowledge
 * Significant experience within child and adolescent mental health services or with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
 * Experience of service development and delivery, including multi‑agency operational systems, referral protocols and assessment processing.
 * Experience of providing and receiving clinical supervision.
 * Experience working with children and adolescents across a variety of settings.
 * Evidence of practice development.
Desirable
 * Additional post registration qualification in a specific therapeutic modality (e.g., CB)PT therapy or other psychological interventions such as EMDR, CBT, Family Interventions, CAT, or DBT.
 * CYIAPT qualifications or modalities.
 * Experience of delivering CBT‑informed supervision or supervising CYPMHS clinicians and trainees.
Other Requirements
 * Valid driving licence and ability to use a car for work purposes or a Trust personal lease vehicle.
