What you'll be doing
Our network is at the heart of everything we do; from sending a text, to air traffic control systems. It’s constantly evolving, and we’re at the forefront of technology for the next generation of cutting-edge mobile networks and services. Our Service Management Practice, within Network Services Operations, play a key part in making sure that continues.
Your role as an apprentice in the Service Management Practice will be to ensure that our core Service Management Processes continually add value and deliver the best possible experience for our customers, colleagues and partners through effective service design, service transition and service operations.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll get the opportunity to work in multiple teams to ensure a holistic knowledge of the department. These include:
1. Service Design & Introduction – introducing new services via projects
2. Change Enablement – facilitating the deployment of operational changes
3. Configuration & Knowledge Management – planning, identifying, controlling, and verifying our services and assets
4. Complex Investigations – the interface between Customer Services and Mobile Operations for technical fault escalations
5. Surveillance – ensuring BT’s live services are monitored and faults restored promptly
6. Problem Management – carrying out root cause analysis of incidents and service failure investigations
7. Automation Team – automating common tasks to ensure maximum efficiency
This role is available in the Networks part of our business.
About the apprenticeship you’ll study for
As a Support Technician, you’ll study for a Level 3 apprenticeship called Information Communication Technician. Your apprenticeship will last for 18 months. You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are also accepted. Please note you can only apply for one role on our graduate or apprentice programmes.
