Role: HGV Class 1 Driver (Regional) – Birmingham with wider depot cover
45 hours per week – 7.30am to 5:00pm
Monday to Friday – Permanent
About you:
Are you a determined individual with experience of working as an HGV Class 1 Driver? Are you a people person who is great with customers? If so an exciting opportunity has arisen for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our reputable team at Morris Leslie Plant Hire as a full time Regional Driver covering our Plant Hire Depot Network within the Birmingham area with additional coverage for our locations in Stockport, Newark and Market Harborough as and when required which may include occasional overnight stays.
You will support multiple depots by delivering and collecting inter depot movements of hire equipment as well as collections from customer sites in a timely and professional manner.
The role may require nights away depending on workload and will include providing holiday and sickness cover for other depot drivers.
Duties also include ensuring vehicles and loads are safe and compliant, customer familiarisation (if required) and completion of all associated checks and administration.
You will work closely with local hire and service teams regarding machine status, condition, customer needs and route planning and will ensure you load and unload heavy construction goods safely and fasten them securely working to national compliance standards.
What you'll need:
* Experienced Driver with a current HGV Class 1 License
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Have a sound understanding of plant equipment
* Be experienced in multi-site deliveries/collections
* Have achieved your CPC and Digital Tacho qualifications
* Experience of using a mobile tablet data system is advantageous but not essential
* Flexible, positive 'can do' attitude
* Ability to travel regionally and stay away from home when required
* Strong self-management and problem-solving skills
