Job description
This permanent role involves overseeing the regions' Structures assets and leading a team of engineers to identify and prioritise asset needs for the development of early scheme solutions for renewals and improvements.
This role offers the flexibility to be based in our client's Bedford, Cambridge, or Ipswich office. A valid driving license with no more than three points is required as part of the job responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the utilisation and allocation of team resources to ensure appropriate resourcing levels for all activities in scope, including providing technical support for Project Managers in the scheme design and delivery process.
2. Act as the asset owner for the structures asset class, ensuring asset-specific management plans and asset management decisions adhere to defined policies and standards, provide value for money, and maximise contribution to business objectives.
3. Ensure all asset needs are identified, prioritised, and managed following required governance to achieve business objectives.
4. Serve as the region's focal point and provide technical expertise in the identification and prioritisation of asset-specific needs, renewal and improvement option evaluation and selection, and development of early solutions.
5. Authorise technical briefs, reports, specifications, drawings, and supporting information.
Job Requirements:
6. Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with appropriate experience
7. Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
8. Good knowledge of CDM 2015
9. Excellent stakeholder management skills
10. Extensive experience in managing a technical team
