The Opportunity
Cint seeks a Cloud Infrastructure FinOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure.
As a Cloud Infrastructure FinOps Engineer at Cint, you will contribute to designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure. You will work with the latest technologies, focusing on automation, performance, and reliability, collaborating closely with product engineering teams.
You will help ensure cost-efficient operations through FinOps practices, supporting cloud cost visibility and optimization efforts, including tagging strategies, cost attribution tooling, and integrating FinOps data into engineering workflows. You will lead technical FinOps initiatives and promote this approach across R&D, aligning infrastructure, engineering, and product teams.
The Team
The Infrastructure Team designs, builds, and develops secure, highly available infrastructure, providing a self-service environment for software development teams to innovate rapidly while maintaining compliance and responsibility. We incorporate FinOps practices to ensure performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and transparency, enabling engineering teams to understand and manage the financial impact of their decisions.
Our platform includes AWS services (S3, RDS, Kinesis, EC2, EMR, ElastiCache, ElasticSearch, EKS), Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Packer, Ansible, Jenkins, and supports applications in Golang, Python, Java, Scala, and .Net. We monitor deployments with Grafana, Prometheus, Graphite, and ELK stacks. We are committed to infrastructure as code, cost visibility, and continuous deployment pipelines.
What we are looking for
* Work within the Infrastructure team on sprints to evolve our platform and systems
* Provide expertise on infrastructure and CI/CD to engineering teams, collaborating on projects
* Automate build and deployment processes to improve efficiency
* Lead cloud cost optimization efforts, integrating FinOps principles into workflows
* Develop and refine tagging strategies for accurate cost attribution
* Enhance monitoring and alerting systems for better operational insights
* Support product and engineering teams with insights and guidance
* Partner with teams to align infrastructure practices with cost-aware operations
* Bring experience and skills to the team, energizing and solving complex challenges
* Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot issues
Qualifications
* Experience in cloud infrastructure roles (AWS), practicing DevOps with FinOps exposure
* Proficiency in AWS native FinOps tools or third-party vendors like Vantage, CloudHealth, CloudCustodian
* Understanding of cloud cost drivers and financial principles
* Comfortable interacting with AWS via CLI and API
* Experience with infrastructure as code, especially Terraform, Ansible, Packer
* Solid knowledge of Docker containerization
* Understanding of software development lifecycle, git, and CI tools like Jenkins, TravisCI, GitHub Actions
* Knowledge of cloud-native and 12-Factor applications
* Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Graphite, Statsd, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty
* Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Ruby, Node, Golang, Java)
