Morson Talent is seeking experienced aircraft Production Engineers with experience working in an aviation Production environment to join our aerospace client. This position is full to support the E7 prototype activities at Birmingham Airport UK.
The E-7 Quality Assurance Production Engineer will be part of the growing client’s Quality team, working within the Fixed Wing area, reporting to the client’s Fixed Wing Quality Manager and taking day to day direction from the on‑site Quality Manager or Quality Lead, conducting Quality Inspections of product, QA‑MRB input to Non Conformity Reports, Safety & Local investigations, Line Stock Checks and other tasks associated with activities on site. An individual contributor providing SME QA oversight and assurance of the on‑site production activities against company procedures, contractual and regulatory compliance.
The E7 prototyping will be conducted under FAA/DCMA requirements and the client’s Production processes at the production site at Birmingham Airport. Previous FAA/DCMA experience would be beneficial, but not essential. The successful individual’s main place of work will be at STS Aviation Services, Birmingham Airport.
Responsibilities
* Participate in Quality reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements to develop quality assurance strategies, plans and tests for hardware and software products, processes and services ensuring early quality involvement in program development.
* Develop quality cost estimates based on Statements of Work (SOW) assigned.
* Develop and implement processes for determining, verifying and meeting Customer SOW requirements, including:
o Verification of product conformity to design
o Verification of compliance to customers’ requirements
o Perform Quality Inspection where necessary of components and/or aircraft/aircraft systems against engineering requirements
o Maintain processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer and regulatory requirements are adhered to, including validation of work instructions, tooling requirements, certifications, process standards, policies and procedures
o Identify and document discrepancies, segregate and control non‑conforming items to prevent unintended use or delivery
o Verify compliance to regulatory/contractual requirements
o Identify opportunities for corrective action while performing product or process verification
o Perform auditing, surveillance and monitoring against the approved audit plan, identify and document discrepancies and manage corrective actions to completion
o Perform preliminary review and disposition of non‑conformance
o Identify repetitive or significant non‑conformances and initiate requests for corrective action
o Conduct product review with customer during product or process verification
o Facilitate and sustain a Just Culture within the Boeing Defence UK organization
o Participate with stakeholders in the analysis process of unfavorable process data, customer complaints and metric results, formulating mitigation plans utilizing the closed‑loop preventive/corrective action process
o Represent Quality in design reviews, providing objective evidence of routine verification of product conformance to design requirements
o Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
Basic Qualifications
* Ability to obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC).
* 3+ years of experience in the aviation industry performing Root Cause Corrective Action.
* 3+ years of experience with QMS (Quality Management System).
* 3+ years of experience working in a Production environment.
* Experience compiling and reporting statistical data.
Preferred Qualifications
* Preferably degree qualified, or equivalent, but not essential.
* Working knowledge of FAA/DCMA requirements.
* Experience working in an aircraft/product Production environment.
* Experience working in a prototyping environment.
* Experience with Data Analytics.
* Familiar with Boeing Process and Procedures would be beneficial.
