About Us
At Sash Window Restorations, were passionate about preserving the character and craftsmanship of period properties across Sussex. From our base in Hove, we specialise in the restoration, repair, and installation of traditional timber sash windows, casement windows, front entrance doors, and French doors.
We operate from two dedicated sites, our main office in Hove and our large, fully equipped joinery workshop in Twineham, just outside Brighton. Every joinery product we install is crafted and manufactured in-house, allowing us to control quality from design through to installation, and proudly guarantee the work we carry out.
Known for our 5-star customer service and attention to detail, were now expanding our installation team and looking for an experienced Sash Window Fitter & Installer to join us.
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Sash Window Fitter, youll be working in customers homes across Sussex, carrying out high-quality installations, restorations, and repairs of timber sash windows, casement windows, and doors. This role involves both solo work and team-based projects, requiring strong attention to detail, respect for customers homes, and clear communication with both customers and our office team.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Restoration: Install newly made joinery including sash windows, casement windows, and doors. Carry out on-site restoration and repair of existing timber windows and doors.
Draught-proofing: Apply draught-proofing systems as part of both repair and full installation projects.
Working On-Site: Maintain a clean, professional work environment in customers' homes, respecting the space and ensuring minimal disruption.
Communication: Keep customers informed throughout the work and liaise with the office team to update on progress or any issues.
Tools & Technology: Use a mix of traditional hand tools and modern powered tools. Record updates and project notes using an iPad provided.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with sash windows.
Joinery Knowledge: Background in carpentry or joinery is beneficial.
Specialist Expertise: Confident working with all aspects of sash windows, including pulley systems, spiral balances, resin repairs, and traditional joinery methods.
Professionalism: Excellent attention to detail, tidy working practices, and good communication with both customers and colleagues.
Independence & Teamwork: Able to work both independently and as part of a team on larger installations.
Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence (clean and valid)
